Italy’s richest man and top candyman Michele Ferrero is the second generation owner of Ferrero. According to Forbes’ rich list he is the wealthiest person in the food and beverage industry ahead of AB Inbev controlling owner Jorge Paulo Lemann. Michele Ferrero inherited the company from his father Pietro, who died in 1949. Michele’s son Giovanni now runs the company as CEO. He previously held the position jointly with brother Pietro Jr, who died in a cycling incident in 2011.
