Time to indulge? Noosa Yoghurt acquired by PE firm (November 2014); Talenti snapped up by Unilever (December 2014)
Two transactions that caught our eye in the dairy category this year were the acquisition of premium yogurt brand Noosa by private equity firm Advent International; and Unilever’s acquisition of top-selling gelato brand Talenti, which has seen revenues surge from $1m in 2008 to $120m in 2014. Both signal consumer interest in premium indulgence.
