Plant-based diets save water, cut greenhouse gases, says I Heart Keenwah
I Heart Keenwah’s line-up of quinoa-based snacks, including its new Dark Chocolate Puffs that launched at Expo West, are making it easier to practice Meatless Mondays, which the company says if practiced for a year can save about 104,000 gallons of water. The firm also says that eating quinoa as a protein source instead of animals could help cut greenhouse gases, 18% of which can be attributed to the production of animal protein.
