Dr Pepper waves Bai to Ben Weiss
Bai Brands founder Ben Weiss also headed for the exit this summer, albeit far earlier than Foraker did, leaving the company he created in his basement in 2009 just five months after selling it to Dr Pepper Snapple Group. He has been replaced by Lain Hancock.
Previously executive vice president, human resources at DPS, Hancock has steadily moved up the ranks of the company after joining in 2007, and will work with Ken Kurtz, Bai’s president of sales, to “drive alignment and coordination between Bai and the DPS selling organization,” said Dr Pepper Snapple Group, which started distributing Bai products in 2013 and took a minority stake in the business in 2015.
