Demand for plant-based protein is driving category growth
Consumers rising interest in plant-based protein also is fueling growth in the legume-based pasta category, according to Ancient Harvest, which showcased a wide range of Pow! pastas made from legumes, including green lentil penne, red lentil rotelle and black bean elbows. It also offers meal kits that play off the fusion of Italian and Mexican cuisines blended in the bean pastas with Italiano and Cubanitos kit. It also upped the ante on mac and cheese by using lentil and quinoa flour to make the childhood favorite with 16 grams of protein.
