Food safety recall round-up 21-27 April 2017
Allergen risk from wrong product inside cans
US: Campbell Soup Company is recalling 4,185 pounds of chicken soup as the products contain milk which is not declared on the label.
Products were labeled as “Campbell’s Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta” but actually contain “Campbell’s Homestyle Healthy Request Italian-Style Wedding Spinach & Meatballs in Chicken Broth” soup.
Chicken with whole grain pasta soup items were produced on February 13 and shipped to retail in Florida.
The problem was discovered when the firm was told by its corporate office of consumer complaints of the wrong product inside the cans.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions. Products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
