Dole recalls potentially-tainted bagged salad products
22 August 2012 – Dole Fresh Vegetables has begun a recall of 1,039 cases of 10oz Dole Italian Blend bagged salad over concerns that they are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
No other salads are affected by the recall.
The product was distributed in eight US states – Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Mississippi and Virginia.
“No illnesses have been reported in association with the recall. This recall notification is being issued due to an isolated instance in which a sample of Role Italian Blend salad yielded a positive result for Listeria monocytogenes in a random sample test conducted by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture,” said a recall notice on the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website.
