September - Sunland peanut butter
Peanut butter manufactured by Sunland was found to the source of an outbreak of Salmonella Bredeney which sickened 42 people.
The illness, which spread to Canada, and forced the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) to issue a warning about the contaminated product, led to 10 hospitalizations in 20 US states.
The recall started with Trader Joe's peanut butte rand went on to affect more than 250 products included cookies, ice cream and fudge.
An FDA inspection indicated that the firm knew it had shipped tainted peanut butter but the firm later denied this.
