Summer Fancy Food Show
The French Farm’s coffee-flavored Les Anis de Flavigny push the definition of “mints”
Coffee also turned up in some unexpected places at the show, including The French Farm’s Les Anis de Flavigny Coffee Mints. The “mints,” which are known in France as old fashioned candies, are anise seeds that are coated with aromas and flavors – in this case coffee – for two weeks so that “they build into little pearls,” explained Francie Simpson, a marketing manager for The French Farm. The sweets originally launched in Europe several years ago, and were wildly popular, she said. But they were discontinued due to supply issues. Now they are back and making their US debut at the Fancy Food Show, she added.
