Nutrigenomix: Nutrition advice for general wellnes consumers and athletes
The University of Toronto company Nutrigenomix caters to healthcare practitioners who want to offer patients with genomic information with the ultimate goal of improving health through personalized nutrition. Today, it is available to providers in 22 countries, and reports are available in seven languages.
There are two tests available—the first is health and wellness, which looks at 45 genetic markers that enable healthcare practitioners to recommend personalized nutrition advices and physical activity recommendations tailored to DNA.
The second is athletic performance, looking at 45 other genetic markers needed for athletes. It also helps identify ways to improve body composition, potential food intolerances, and ways to optimize heart health.
