Higher protein and lower fat content considered a plus
Several taste-testers lauded the product’s protein content and low-fat levels compared to some other plant-based milks. Steve Putansu, a meat-lover who prefers organic, noted that compared to other plant-based milks, Oatly “aligned with my goals” of higher protein and lower fat. Oatly original has 2 grams of protein and 5 grams of fat per cup, compared to Silk’s Almond Milk, which has 1 gram of protein and 2.5 grams fat. But given the choice, Putansu said he would still opt for dairy milk, which has 8 grams of protein and 4.9 grams of fat per cup of 2%.
