Natural blue and green candy
While several fruit- and vegetable-derived natural blue colors have been on the market for a while, the FDA’s recent decision to give the thumbs up to spirulina as a source of blue color in candy and gum has given US firms another natural alternative to artificial FD&C Blue #1 ('brilliant blue') and has opened up new opportunities in natural greens.
So expect more naturally-colored blue and green candy to hit stores near you soon...
