Robert Rothschild starts organic transition
Robert Rothschild Farm launched its first complete line of organic sauces after recently achieving organic certification of its Urbana, OH, manufacturing facility. Robert Rothschild Farm produces sauces, dips, preserves, mustards and spreads that are all natural, gluten free and kosher.
The new organic line—comprising Blueberry Balsamic, Citrus Chardonnay, Pineapple Habanero BBQ, Sriracha Teriyaki, Whiskey Pepper Cream and White Wine Creole—will launch the manufacturer’s movement to convert the majority of its current product offering to be organic certified.
Non-GMO Project Verified has become the fastest-growing label in the natural products industry, representing $6 bn in annual sales and more than 16,000 products verified. Yet a non-GMO product isn’t necessarily organic. Trade groups like the Organic Trade Association are worrying that amid all the non-GMO fervor, consumers may be forgetting the very meaning of organic. Read the related story.
