Chickpeas now appear in pasta form
Pasta has gotten a bad name in recent years in the natural products community, with gluten-free offerings coming to the fore. Banza, based in Detroit, MI, launched what founder Brian Rudolph said is the first pasta made primarily from chickpeas. The product, which also includes pea protein, provides 13 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber in a 220 calories serving. The product features a low glycemic index, is non GMO and cooks faster than competing high protein pastas.
