Some things are really black & white: Bob's Red Mill introduces heirloom orca beans
From boring to bang on trend, beans have undergone something of a renaissance in recent years, and are now featuring in everything from fancy salads to protein-packed snacks and dips.
Tapping into this trend, Bob’s Red Mills has launched the latest addition to its dried bean range: A new heirloom variety of orca beans.
“Last year we visited one of our farmers here in the Pacific Northwest, and when I saw these beautiful Orca Beans, I knew I wanted to buy the entire crop and add them to our family of Heritage Beans,” said Bob’s Red Mill founder & CEO Bob Moore.
Also known as calypso beans, orca beans are high in fiber and iron, and work well in salads, soups and side dishes.
