Stonyfield, Happy Family team on organic kids’ yogurt pouches
Stonyfield collaborated with organic baby food marketer Happy Family on a line of yogurt products for babies, toddlers and kids that hit stores this summer. Made without pesticides, GMOs, artificial hormones or antibiotics, the yogurt line targets growing babies, toddlers and kids. All of the yogurts are fortified with vitamin D and sold individually and in four packs. The line includes:
- YoBaby yogurt pouches for babies 6 months+: whole milk yogurt enhanced with fish oil-sourced DHA and EPA, omega-3 fatty acids associated with brain development. YoBaby comes in 3.4-oz. pouches in four varieties: Blueberry, Mango, Sweet Potato and Vanilla.Each pouch contains 100 calories and 3g of fat.
- YoTot yogurt pouches: similar formulation to YoBaby in slightly larger 3.7-oz. pouches. The flavors, Pear Spinach Mango and Strawberry Beet Berry, are designed to introduce kids to new foods and flavors. Each pouch contains 110-120 calories, depending on variety, and 3.5g of fat.
- YoKids yogurt pouches: Featuring low-fat yogurt, these pouches will appeal to older kids in three varieties: Blueberry, Strawberry and Strawberry Banana. Each 3.7-oz. pouch contains 110 calories and 2g of fat.
The $23 billion children's food and beverage market currently accounts for about 4% of the overall US food and beverage market, according to Packaged Facts. As the segment is currently outpacing growth of the overall market, kids' products present a massive opportunity for marketers.
