Cinnamon Toast Crunch turns 30
General Mills is commemorating 30 years of its Cinnamon Toast Crunch brand by adding more cinnamon to the cereal and rolling out a new ad campaign.
The updated Cinnamon Toast Crunch formula is now available at supermarkets and retailers nationwide. The new ad campaign, which features the “crazy squares” characters, will be showcasing the product’s improved taste through sampling efforts, in offices, through Twitter and on the street.
The brand is also enlisting chefs to create innovative recipes with Cinnamon Toast Crunch as the main ingredient through a partnership with social food network Tastemade.
Three decades since it launched, Cinnamon Toast Crunch is still the fifth top-grossing cereal brand in the US, with $313,750,720 in sales over the 52-week period through August 2014, according multi-outlet sales data from IRI.
