There are so many new snacks, but we couldn't see anything like ProTings
And while we're on the subject of protein, one booth that was consistently buzzing was that of ProTings, which was created by Krik Angacian and Ryan Wiltse, roommates at Boston College who headed to the Big Apple after graduating to enter the world of corporate finance and went on to found a snacking company.
While there were plenty of bagged snacks at the show, ProTings baked chips contain a hefty 15g of protein (from pea protein isolate) per 120 calorie, 1oz serving, which really makes them stand out from the crowd, says the Brooklyn-based firm, which has secured listings in more than 1,000 stores in the New York tri-state area from gyms and juice bars to convenience stores, and is now targeting grocery stores.
While a lot of bars and protein shakes have this much protein, it's unusual to find it in a chip, says the firm.
