KIND Healthy Snacks: Consumers want snacks with ingredients they recognize, and more interesting flavors and textures
While KIND Healthy Snacks was also promoting protein-packed snacks at the show (its STRONG & KIND bars have 10g protein from almonds and pea protein isolate), its latest line extensions focus more on ancient grains (a new popped sorghum Healthy Grains bar) and on-trend favors (coffee).
EVP of Marketing, Lisa Mann told FoodNavigator-USA that the Healthy Grains bars - which contain gluten free oats, millet, quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat - meet consumer demand for snacks with more nutrition (whole grains, protein, fiber) and more interesting flavors and textures, coupled with ingredients they recognize and a social mission (being kind) that resonates with everyone.
One of the fastest-growing snack brands in the country, KIND offers a range of products targeting different occasions, said Mann, noting that with many Americans now grazing throughout the day, the lines between meals and snacks are blurring, with many consumers now combining a STRONG & KIND bar with an apple or some cheese as a mini meal, for example.
