Cartoon character could cause consumers to undervalue product
The image on the package of a smiling cartoon woman holding a jar of nut butter and wearing a tee-shirt with a heart generated highly divergent opinions with Bonnie Calabria, a new mom, and Natasha Bonhomme, an on-the-go frequent traveler who often buys bars, calling it “amateurish” and Bridget O’Brien, an omnivore, characterizing it as having a “crunchy, hippy vibe reminiscent of simpler days” and reminding her of “kids’ cookbooks and coloring books from the late 70s/early 80s.” The three women were part of a small group who sampled Bobo bars for our wildly unscientific taste test.
