Arla: Whey protein ticks all the boxes
Growing interest in plant protein has not dented consumers’ enthusiasm for whey, claimed Arla Food Ingredients, which is seeing growing demand in portable snacks and ready-to-drink beverages including clear waters, as technology to make it water dispersible has improved.
One prototype attracting some interest at the show was a shelf-stable 100ml ‘pre-meal’ shot containing fiber and 15g Lacprodan whey protein that could help consumers with type two diabetes improve their blood sugar control, said the firm.
